"In the Wake of Zaca won the Prix du Patrimoine Maritime at the prestigious Festival Du Film Maritime, D'Exploration Et D' Environment in Toulon, France". Few sailing vessels are surrounded by more myth and legend than the yacht Zaca. Launched on the eve of the great depression, the 118' gaff-rigged topsail schooner has sailed through 75 years of history from one remarkable adventure to the next. Zaca has served as a luxuary yacht, scientific research vessel, navy patrol boat and party boat for Hollywood swashbuckler Errol Flynn. This documentary offers a riveting window into the past as seen through the eyes of this historic ship and the survivors of those who sailed her. Produced and directed by Luther Greene.

Suspected of killing a man while on shore leave, sailor Tom Cassidy sets out to prove his innocence.

History is taking to the seas and walking in the footsteps of Captain James Cook. 250 years after Cook began his epic exploration of the Pacific, Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, The Piano) journeys in his wake uncovering stories that resonate from those times on both sides of the beach. Sam begins with a disclaimer – he is merely an actor – but the story of Cook, and the impact he has had on the Pacific in the 250 years since his first voyage, has always fascinated him.

A remake of the Orson Welles film The Other Side of the Wind, it evokes the rascality of the Our Gang comedies, and it probes the cliché: "Is the journey more important than the destination?"

The Wake is the title of a large-scale multimedia project, the main element of which is an eight-hour long silent movie. The film is based on Finnegans Wake by James Joyce (London 1939), a limit-transgressing, perhaps even limit-dissolving book that not only transgresses the limits of what literature is and is capable of, but inscribes transgressions on almost all conceivable levels. It is at the same time dream book, history book and necrology. It is almost impossible to determine whether we are dealing with a long poem, a prose narrative or a piece of drama.

Over there, in his village at the foot of the mountains, he’s dead. His face radiant and his body at peace, he lies on the bed. Then they can gather around him. Three days long they talk, drink, weep, fight and remember… And they smile, too.
